Art with Heart Policies Effective June 3, 2009[i][1]
1.No fraternization with anyone under the age of 18 who is associated with Art with Heart outside of Art with Heart’s activities.
2.No fraternization with clients from other institutions’ groups where Art with Heart is volunteering. If clients volunteer for Art with Heart, it must be after they have been released from the Institution- with the exception of school students, in which case, teacher/student relations will be respected and upheld.
“Other institutions” includes:
a.Students from schools
b.Clients from Violence Shelters
c.Mentor/mentee relationships
d.Clients from rehabilitation facilities and all of their counterparts
3.Absolutely NO illegal substances, paraphernalia or behavior is allowed in or on Art with Heart’s properties, vehicles or functions. This includes no transportation of drugs, paraphernalia or stolen property in Art with Heart’s properties, as well.
4.Criminal charges brought against an Art with Heart officer will result in either termination of position or association with Art with Heart, with the exception of assault charges caused by the protection of self, property or another person or charges filed due to peaceful public demonstration.
5.No teaching, driving or going to therapeutic activities under the influence. Exceptions include prescribed medications used according to prescribed doses.
Violation of these policies:
First offense: termination of officer position, if applicable.
Second offense: termination of any association with Art with Heart.
6.Art with Heart will not tolerate discrimination of any kind.
7.Art with Heart will not tolerate illegal activity.
8.No illegal firearms allowed at any Art with Heart function or its transportation vehicles.
9.All artwork transportation is the sole responsibility of that artist. Set up and take down is the artist’s responsibility unless arrangements are made otherwise.
10.Art with Heart is not responsible for theft or damage to property at events or during transport. We have no money for it, but will chase someone down for your paintings ;)
11.All artwork must be original. No duplications, copies, or kits. We can use a kit for children’s activities, but if it is a reference for personal artwork: turn it backwards, change color and composition or something to make it personalized and unrecognizable from its previous form. We respect both inspiration and copyright laws.
12.No one under the age of 13 loitering at Art with Heart's face painting booth unless they’re your children or volunteers at festivals and then only by permission. Family and loitering youngsters distract us and annoy costumers. Kids doing some painting are ok.
13.Everyone at the Art with Heart booth/tables must have a volunteer application and/or parental permission slip filled out.
14.Art with Heart respects personal beliefs and expects our volunteers to respect others’, as well. Keeping our beliefs in our personal space is supported.
