This is so new to us, but music has been so much of a companion in my personal life that it is just natural for AwH to have a music section. It causes you to dance for joy when things are going great, lifts you up when you're down, adds ambiance to a romantic mood and gives voice to the pain that life does inevitably bring.
The fine art of music is as old as humans could make noise and rhythm, so please welcome these groups of artists of the ear. Where we can, we upload some of their selections because we are proud to share artists' passion! Click their pictures to contact these artists and click here to view more pictures from February 20's Arbor Day Run/Walk/Roll.
'The Social Mosaic' Levi and Sherry is an amazing and intense duo of nothing but guitar and flute music. They are not to be missed if you get a chance to hear them play. Click link below to hear a sample of their music.
Once I Heard the Water Laugh by The Social Mosaic (although I don't know why it says Douglas Adams?)
'SOJ''s Marcus Johnson is a one man band who needs no accompaniment. He's an accomplished songwriter who performed all original tracks. Mellow and introspective, the rhythm and voice has transportative effects.
Katie Stephens and Gabe McLain is another fantastic duo who played original music on the stage at our Run/Walk/Roll. Working with a cold straining her vocal cords, Katie pushed onward and the crowd still loved her.
David Knowles from JD Campus and 'Coastal Vibrations' sang various well loved hit themes from Greese, and others. They didn't need instruments to keep the crowd alive and cheering!
'The Navigator Band'' was a huge hit at the Run/Walk/Roll for performing well-loved hits! We had some break out into dance and spontaneous, excited yells. Many of the listeners, including Janie O'Keefe from Disability Connection and Cheryl Bell of The City of Biloxi, yelled and motioned them to keep playing. TWO hours they did for us and we were honored.
