Welcome to the new Martin Bluff Art Group Page
When we started, this was a new group of especially talented fourth graders in an experimental art study group. Working in conjunction with teachers and counselors from Martin Bluff, we had a blast. This was the first time in my life I was sad to see summer come since we couldn't meet any more, but Ms. Sally Walley brightened my day by saying we can meet again starting back in the fall! Congratulations, boys, you all did wonderful jobs.
Now, we are in our second season and the boys are in grade 5 and growing up and more talented by the class. Art with Heart is still grateful to get to spend time with them and witness their changes by the week. Thanks, everyone!

Grade 5
Superhero Masks! What do you have in yourself that makes you a superhero? What behavior do you have that sets you into the superhero spotlight? Do you care about the Earth? Do you take up for and protect others? Are you a "Captain Creative" or are you a "Mechanical Genius"? Do you have a gift of walking away from violence?
Our real inner heroes is what our masks are celebrating. Good start, guys :)
Grade 4
Preston is influenced by Japanese cartoons. He is also interested in figures; in particular, he shows great depth in emotion and expression in his figure's faces. He has a natural eye for expression and composition.
Jarred is both analytical and expressive. His placement and superheros are straight out of his imagination, showing his high level of creativity. His awareness of trajectory and what comes first goes hand in hand with his gift of visual story telling!
Kyle's work shows great storytelling and empathy. He's interested in the direction of the eye rather than the logical placement of objects--- wonderful fodder for an abstract artist telling tales of battles and transport! His muted watercolors sometimes take on a Rothko vibe.
TJ also has a natural eye for composition. He uses the whole page and treats the negative space as equally as the positive space, while using placement of subjects' closeness to give an intimate and emotional feel to his work. He chooses highly expressive subject matter.
Andrew has an eye for design, as he could very well go into system analyses! He's aware of how things go together to work and is highly attentive to detail. The placement of his objects suggest both objectivity and imagination.
