Kelli is a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi. She has had a sincere appreciation for art since kindergarten. In high school, Kelli discovered a love for graphic design and commercial printing, and began working in a local print shop at the age of fifteen. She joined the Vocational-Industrial Clubs of America, and represented south Mississippi in state competition, receiving a silver medal in Graphic and Print Communications in 1994.
Believing strongly in the power of art therapy, Kelli turned to oil painting in 2006 after a series of traumatic events challenged her physical and emotional well-being. Kelli began taking Bob Ross classes at University of South Alabama, and went on to study at the official Bob Ross Art Workshop in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She is now certified by Bob Ross, Inc to teach his “wet-on-wet” technique. Kelli states, “Painting is a wonderful outlet, and I have seen time and time again the joy that it brings into people’s lives. I am humbled by the opportunity to share this unique method of painting with others.”
Kelli is Secretary of non-profit organization Art With Heart in Mississippi, an active member of the MGCCC-JC Art Guild, and is also a member of various art associations.
Kelli teaches Bob Ross painting workshops along the Mississippi and Alabama Gulf Coast. Her workshop blog can be found at http://gulfcoastartworks.blogspot.com. She also loves other genres of fine art, including drawing and design, music, and crafts, and participates in several art and craft related charity groups. Her official portfolio including work for sale, commission, and charity can be found at http://gulfcoastartstudio.blogspot.com.
